Article About Local Rape in Astoria

Folks,

My name is Alex, and I live out here in Astoria, NY too. As we Astoria residents know, a young woman was robbed, raped, and sodomized in our neighborhood. Like you guys and a lot of people here, I was shocked and angry to learn about it. I don't know what it's like to be raped, but since I've seen my best friend recover from rape, I know it's an ugly, ugly act no woman (and man) deserves.

I am also a writer for an online magazine, Intrepid Media, and have a monthly column that runs. My latest column is titled "Words For the Neighborhood Assailant"- words that the rapist ought to hear, and a few I wrote on behalf of our girl.

If anyone here has a way of getting in touch with her, please let me know. But, in the meantime, if anyone here has ever survived rape and sexual assault... these words are for you, too.
